Parallel Rent Assessment (PRA)
Parallel Rent Assessment has always been envisaged by pub tenants to be the best method of delivering transparency. It can demonstrate the cost of being tied. Pub Companies did not want tenants to be in an informed position when it came to assessing the value of a tied rental offer. Which they then lobbied the Government to stop them from getting access to this powerful tool.
In 2016, an overwhelming number of pub tenants and their supporters, requested a PRA from Government. However, the Government concluded that there were no need for a PRA. In response to the demonstrable unfairness, the PAS can offer an exclusive PRA report for pub tenants (see example below).
