Business Lasting Power of Attorneys (BLPA) – Business continuity plan #ukpubs
Are you a business owner? Do you travel abroad? Is your business dependent on your ability to be present at your office to sign contracts, manage staff, pay wages or simply grow profits?
Much like a personal Lasting Power of Attorney, a BLPA allows you to appoint someone to take control of your affairs in certain circumstances. With the pandemic of Coronavirus, many people are finding themselves in isolation (either self-imposed or quarantined, such as towns in northern Italy) for a minimum of 14 days (with some quarantines lasting almost twice as long). In the unfortunate circumstance that this should happen to you and you had appointed an attorney under a BLPA, then your attorney could continue running your business in your absence, ready for you to carry on when you return.
To use a more pleasant example, you may also be able to appoint an attorney under a BLPA to run the business to enable you to take an extended break, perhaps abroad, without having to check in and deal with accounts, contracts etc. whilst you are away!
Our charges for a BLPA are the same as for an LPA please feel free to obtain a quote for our services using our online calculator. The calculator can be found using the button below;
Alternatively please feel free to call me on 01483 668817 to discuss your business needs and answer any questions about the process and timescales involved.
Furthermore, please note that we would also be able to help your employees and clients with Wills, personal Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Probate, Administration of Estates, residential conveyancing and commercial conveyancing.”
